Creative Writing: Life in the WW1 Trenches
A firm favourite with teachers, develop pupils’ emotive creative writing with a 360 experience of the First World War trenches.
Using the Life in the WW1 Trenches Virtual Tour, take pupils on a virtual field trip to explore trench life for a soldier; using the sobering sights and sounds of explosions, gas, rats and mud to inspire their descriptive writing.
Classroom ideas:
Write a poem or diary entry from the point of view of a soldier in the trenches:
What is it like in the trenches?
What sights and sounds are pupils experiencing?
How do pupils feel?
Think of the missing senses; how might the trenches smell? Are they cold or warm?
Give pupils the opportunity to make their own gas mask and periscope, then explore the trenches again:
How do these items help?
What might it have been like to rely on these for safety?
Science: Animal Habitats
Explore animal habitats for KS1 with an immersive 360 game. Can your pupils match the animals to the suitable habitats?
Explore under the sea, rainforest, arctic and African savannah in 360 and discuss with your class what makes each of the habitats unique. Correctly choose the animals best suited to each environment to move to the next habitat.
Great for getting everyone engaged during a class introduction, or allow pupils to explore the environments alone or in pairs for independent learning.
Classroom ideas:
Split the class into four groups and assign each group one of the habitats.
Ask each group to make a list of more animals which would be suited to the habitat they have been given.
Discuss why each animal is suited to its environment.

Maths: Position & Direction
Practice position and directional turns with this fun game.
Start your class all facing the same direction with an iPad each. Each child should start with the same object, a banana, a whale, a tree, or a helicopter.
Instruct your class to follow your directions, using degrees and directions. For example, turn 90 degrees clockwise. The children should now be facing a different direction and see a different object on the iPads!

Classroom ideas:
Mix it up with multiple instructions, speed up the pace or award prizes for the fastest correct answers.
For an extra challenge, use with VR headsets so children can’t follow the direction of their classmates!

History: Apollo 11 Moon Landing
Take your class on an adventure to the Moon, allow pupils to land alongside Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin, and take those famous first steps on the Moon together. This tour takes you through the key moments in the 1969 Moon Landing including placing the USA flag and photos of the experiments carried out by the astronauts.
Afterwards, try landing the AR Lunar Lander in your school hall or playground to see the spacecraft up close.
Classroom ideas:
What do pupils notice about the Moon surface?
What might it be like to walk on the Moon and why?
English: VR Fairytales
Listen to the familiar tales of Jack & the Beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood or The Tale of the Three Little Pigs, as you explore the scenes in immersive 360.
The perfect activity for winding down at the end of the day, or as a fun lesson starter idea.
Classroom ideas:
How are fairytales different to other stories?
Can pupils think of any other popular fairytales?
Challenge pupils to write a new modern-day fairytale!
